New Sounds From San Francisco

Secret Seven Records out of San Francisco had recently announced a second In A Cloud: New Sounds From San Francisco compilation a few weeks ago which is good news for any fan of the music coming out of the Bay Area.  The first release featured brand new songs from some of the best up and coming artists like Ty Segall, Fresh & Onlys, Kelley Stoltz and many many more. This year's comp will follow the same concept and features new tracks from Ty Segall Band and Tim Cohen and features much more than that. The record features several solo projects from established artists like Hannah Lew of Grass Widow and Wymond Miles of Fresh & Onlys. Below the entire record can be streamed and can be pre-ordered here. These wont last long, only 850 copies will be pressed.

In other Secret Seven Records news, Sonny Smith from Sonny and the Sunsets will be releasing a new (kind of) solo record titled One Act Plays. The title does have some relevance to the actual content of the album. According to Sonny:
The songs on One Act Plays started out as real one act plays written for the theater. But in writing them I began to make them songs at some point
The record will feature several guest appearances (Neko Case, John Dwyer, etc) you can read the rest of the description here as well as place a pre-order. The record is limited to 400 copies

The new six song ep from San Francisco's The Sandwitches is now available for pre-order and will be shipping out mid-July. It features 4 new tracks along with covers of Tim Cohen's (Fresh & Onlys) "Rock of Gibralter" and "Baby Mine".
