The Actors [High and Low EP]

The Actors is the eletro-indie band from San Francisco consisting of Phil Maves, Daniel Leech, and Cory Aboud. High and Low is the trio's third EP which can be found here as for digital download and the second to be released this year. What makes this EP a bit different from the others is the depth of the record. The vocal melodies are wonderfully structured while the vast variety of keyboard and basslines are layered perfectly. There is a definite 80's feel to a majority of the songs and coupled with how upbeat the songs are will surely make their live show one dance party not to miss.

Wild Nothing [Golden Haze EP, Captured Tracks]

A new track was released on Pitchfork's Forkcast yesterday from an artist I've been listening to a lot from lately. "Golden Haze" is the latest from Wild Nothing which will be off of his new EP titled Golden Haze off of Captured Tracks. The track picks up right where Gemini left off with Jack Tatum's soft vocals and the bands mellow sounding music. The release date has been made for September 13th (via) but the EP will be available as a 12'', CD, and as a digital download with the vinyl having 4 tracks and the CD with 6 (vinyl's 4 + 2, again via).

Hanoi Janes [I Dig You, Captured Tracks]

"I Dig You" can be found off of the brand new Specks Ho! 7'' EP on Captured Tracks. The track is fairly short, a little under the 2 minute mark but that does not take away from how good the song is. Its a bright pop song with excellent vocals and guitar lines, both electric and acoustic. This EP is a perfect follow up to his excellent full length Year Of Panic, which came out earlier in the year.
