Drew Gibson from the band Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk sent over a new music video for the track "Jeremy Irons Couple Skate". The video is a set of photographs taken by Kid Lupus during a show in Leipzig Germany. The song is off of BBDDM's latest album Skeletor and Me which came out on tape, CD and vinyl last year.

Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk [MT2, Solid Melts]
Drew, from one of my new favorite bands BBDM, over the weekend sent another track off of the band's latest album, Skeletor & Me. The track is pretty different sounding than some of the other songs that I've posted here from the album as this one is a lot more noisy, chaotic and distorted (or was that Soundcloud messing up). The album is currently available on vinyl on Fire Talk Records or as cassette on Solid Melts and will be shipped out late October.

Expo 70 [The Vanishing World Within, Solid Melts]
The experimental record The Vanishing World Within Expo 70 has been re-released on Solid Melts and limited to 100 black cobalt tapes which can be summer up best below:
SampleComprised of skeletal recordings started over a year ago, finally finished. “The Vanishing World Within” presented in five phases, cultivates a body of sounds new and familiar for Expo ’70. “Phase I” is a lesson in meditation with reverberating organ drones cascades into “Phase II” where things get weird with pulsating synths and textured tonal waves of electronics, the Goblin vibe is heavy on this. “Phase III” closes side A with a heavy locked guitar riff summoning Hawkwind backed by Neu! syncopated drumming by David Williams (Sounding the Deep), looped guitar echoes intertwine layered guitar lines alongside a thick doomed-out guitar riff.Side B opens to “Phase IV,” bringing us back to to pulsing electronics with soft haunting melodic synth parts causing cosmic reverberations that are accompanied by analog drum machine leads to “Phase V,” full of sine waves, leading into serene delicate guitar work. - Solid Melts

Erasers [Summer CS, Solid Melts]
Eraser's Summer is another sweet cassette release coming from the good folks over at Solid Melts. I first heard this band on the Solid Melts summer compilation and have been a huge fan of the band's sound since. The duo of Rupert and Rebecca hail from Perth in Western Australia and while only recently performing a handful of live shows and generated some buzz with their previous EP CD-R and 7'' single. The band layer many different elements into their songs; Rupert performing the instrumentation looping together guitars, keyboard synths and drum rhythms while Rebecca keeps cool on vocals to maintain the flow of the track.
The tape is due out August 3rd and can be picked up here, limited to 50 copies

An Empire of Fun [Summer Compilation, Solid Melts]
Summer time is here, which means beaches, bikinis, BBQs and mixtapes. Some noteworthy compilations to have come out have been from SmokeDon'tSmoke, Dead As Digital, Beko DSL, among countless others and now the fine fellows over at Solid Melts have put together a pretty impressive line up. The tape features 25 artists, including: C V L T S, Vehicle Blues, Julian Lynch, Cloud Nothings, Kevin Greenspon and Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk. The music ranges from pop to punk to experimental.

HORSES [In Photographs, Solid Melts]
The above video is for the song "In Photographs" by the band HORSES from Spokane Washington who have released a new cassette this last week titled Sincerely Jackie Chan over on the Solid Melts label. The cassette can be picked up here as it is a limited run of 50 copies.

Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk [Skeletor & Me, Solid Melts]
Two new tracks, "Last Night Sucked" and "Jeremy Irons Couple Skate" from Kansas band, Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk (BBDDM). The songs keep you focused on the singer's vocals while in the background a lot of interesting music is being played; guitars and bass coming in and out of the speakers when least expecting it. The band have been around for quite some time and already have a very extensive backlog of sold out split cassettes and CD-Rs. Both tracks will be featured on their upcoming release called Skeletor & Me on both cassette and CD later in August. They also have a 7'' coming out on Woodsman label Fire Talk Records.
