Blackbird Blackbird [Crumble Before Your Eyes]

About 30 minutes ago Mikey of Blackbird Blackbird finished yet another sweet chillwave jam called "Crumble Before Your Eyes" He sent it over and have been loving it ever since; there are plans of putting the song onto a brand new EP. Last week he released a free EP called Rarities which is a collection of songs he had worked on in the past but were not put onto the LP to be physically released in late September.

Blackbird Blackbird [Forest Castles / Camera Talk (Blackbird Blackbird Remix) ]

I'm starting to think that Mikey of Blackbird Blackbird never sleeps; there seems to be new songs every few days or so and I am having trouble keeping up. Since my first post mentioning his first 7'' split with PaoPao on Double Denim Records, that vinyl is now currently available, his debut LP Summer Heart can be purchased as a digital download with a physical release coming out soon, a rarities EP (which will be made for free) and countless number of remixes and projects that my head has exploded trying to keep things straight. But what makes Blackbird Blackbird spectacular is that the music never sounds stale or recycled. Each new track sounds fresh and his remixes are really well done. I'm just amazed by this guy's ability and drive to make music. Forest Castles is off of the Summer Heart LP while "Camera Talk" remix was completed and sent over the weekend.

It has been a relatively quiet summer for Beko DSL but the label as more than made up for it with releasing now two summer mixtapes; the first which is available for free download here included artists such as Idiot Glee, Tan Dollar and Eternal Summers. The second and newly released compilation is also available for free download at the site, but it can also be purchased as a cassette over at the exciting new tape label, Orchid Tapes (run by Foxes In Fiction's Warren Hildebrand). Blackbird Blackbird [Summer Heart, Arcade Sounds Ltd]

San Francisco's Blackbird Blackbird has a release date and cover art for his upcoming full length LP. The album is a collective of most of the songs that Mikey has released since early in the year as well as some new material (read more on the album here). The album is out now as a digital download here while the vinyl has a September release date on Arcade Sounds Ltd; this is one album not to miss.

Blackbird Blackbird [Pure Split 7'', Double Denim Records]

Since I first learned about Blackbird Blackbird a couple weeks ago, a lot has happened since that time for Mikey S. New songs seem to be released constantly, the Modest Mouse track "Float On" was remixed and broke the top 10 on hypem; the video for the song looks incredible, "Pure" was remixed by the band Coolrunnings , and Blackbird Blackbird have been making the rounds on the blog circuit. All this attention is well deserved and the hard work that Mikey has been putting in is starting to pay off. With a full length album coming soon later in the year, a 7'' split single was announced and officially has a release date. Blackbird Blackbird will take the A side with "Pure" supported by "So Sorry" and "Girl" while the B side will be taken by Swedish group Paopao featuring Prizes. The 7'' is on pre-sale and will be released July 23rd
